Page 320 — The next development occurred a few years later, when Gingerich et al. (1990) described new specimens of the archaeocete _Basilosaurus_ from the middle and upper Eocene deposits of Egypt.
Although it was like other archaeocetes in being fully aquatic, these new specimens had something never previously preserved:

In most whales, there are no external hind limbs, but the remnants of the hip and thigh bones are buried in muscles along the spine halfway down the body (fig. 4.9).

Thus hind limbs of _Basilosaurus_ are most plausibly interpreted as accessories facilitating reproduction.
Abduction of the femur and plantar flexion of the foot, with the knee locked in extension, probably enabled hind limbs to be used as guides during copulation, which may otherwise have been difficult in a serpentine aquatic animal.
Characteristics related to reproduction are often dimorphic in mammals, and dimorphism in a larger sample of limb elements would support the interpretation of hind limb function proposed here (lack of dimorphism would not necessarily refute it).
Discovery of pelvic limbs and feet in _Basilosaurus_ raises the possibility that other archaeocetes retained functional hind limbs (24).

Out of the goodness of my heart, I tried to cross the aisle and see his point of view through a critic of Elizondo but he still calls UFO/UAP disclosure "conspiracy" with no evidence which is a social engineering tactic to mold behavior and opinion, i.e.: social engineering. Social engineering is highly effective because it is often easier to exploit human psychology than to find vulnerabilities in the arguments for UAP and UAP disclosure.

I went through the trouble out of the goodness of my heart to find someone who has followed this subject from his youth as Stephen says he did. And that person, John Greenewald, did not come to the same conclusion Stephen did; so, Stephen loss the argument.

It would have no empirical support.

It is very difficult to explain to most people why an anecdote is not evidence. Do you understand why hearsay is generally not admissable in court?

In 1 Corinthians 15:6 Paul reports that after the Resurrection, Jesus appeared to more than 500 "brothers" at one time. Most whom were alive at the time Paul wrote. Modern Christian apologists breathlessly repeat this claim as evidence for the Resurrection. Do you see the problem? Paul is repeating a story he was told about an event he did not personally witness. 

It doesn't matter who makes a claim. Claims aren't evidence. They require evidence. And the more extraordinary the claim the more extraordinary the evidence required.

But with aliens the task is rather easy.

Produce an alien.

But if they're shy, produce a piece of technology that could not be manufactured on earth.
