I guess I’m somewhat unusual in that my faith didn’t die in the midst of an agonizing trauma. My faith faded like an old painting left out in the sunshine. I realized one day that if I was honest with myself I simply no longer believed. I didn’t become an atheist so much as realize I already was. Consequently I have few if any regrets. I have much sympathy for those whose path is rocky. I’m afraid I have little helpful advice for them.
