Stephen, will any positive ideology obtain the marks of religion, in your estimation?
All systems of thought not based on evidence and which lack any method of purposeful self-critique will resemble one another to some degree.
Consider Wittgenstein’s concept of “family resemblances”, Familienähnlichkeit. Structures may be connected by a series of overlapping similarities, but with no one feature common to all.
On the other hand, I have heard it suggested that Marxism was simply the last and greatest of all Christian heresies.
