Is he a conservative or liberal Christian?  I can’t really tell what his views on salvation and hell are and I’m kinda nervous.

Would his views on salvation be definitive for you? If so, why? He lists Dr. Ehrman on his vita, and may have been one of his students. His specialty seems to be early Christianity.
