Like Jesus, Pilate was unquestionably a historical figure.

Jesus was a composite character of historical fiction.
Jesus was not one unique, biological human being conceived by intercourse of man and woman.
Two of the many figures in the composition of Jesus are
1) Jesus of Galilee who had mariner followers in 69 C.E. This historical Jesus rejected the diplomacy of General Vespasian by stealing the horses of those diplomats. This historical Jesus lost the Battle of Galilee.
2) Enoch, Son of Man, who was elevated to angel status and given the responsibility of judging each human. Paul sees Jesus as an angel.
