Meditating on upgrading to Platinum membership for three months
Also, I need to go through Bart’s posts to see if there were posts for Gold members only that I wished I could have read. That would be the only reason why I would go Gold.
Since I want to try the Platinum level, I would get access to the Gold posts.
The Platinum level’s
quarterly webinars might be interesting (I do not know what has been covered at past quarterly webinars.)
reading the the posts of other Platinum members may be interesting (I do not know what has been in the past posted by them)
reading the comments to Platinum member posts may be interesting to me

I have been doing some things in other career fields of mine.
I also had to update my website and update the keywords for my book, Historical Accuracy, which is a setup for adding additional categories.
The two initial categories are Book Industry Standards and Communication (BISAC) categories and subcategories.
1) Nonfiction, Religion, Biblical Criticism & Interpretation
2) Nonfiction, History, Civilization
Because I discuss Joseph, Moses, the Pharaoh of the Oppression, King Saul, Labayu, King David, King Solomon, Psusenes I, Amenemope, Osorkon the elder, Siamun, Psusennes II, Shoshenq I, Haremsaf, Maatkare, Maacah (daughter of Talmal), Herod the Great (King of the Jews), Jesus, Manahem, King Manu VI, Jesus of Galilee (late 60s CE), Julius Caesar, Augustus Caesar, Queen Helena, Prince Izates, Vespasian, Titus,
I need to add the category:
3) Books > Christian Books & Bibles > Biographies
And because of Leviticus 17: 10-11
I need to add the category:
4) Books > Religion & Spirituality > Atheism
I am also considering the category:
5) Kindle eBooks > Religion & Spirituality > Religious Studies & Reference > Essays
= = =
Finally, given two paths
1) Christians interested in historical accuracy
2) Atheists interested in Atheism
I preferred the path of Christians interested in historical accuracy
but from a marketing standpoint, atheists are more interested in atheism than Christians are interested in historical accuracy.
I did not want to market myself or my work under the atheism flag
but Christians seeking Biblical Criticism & Interpretation or Christians vicariously living my test of faith is not getting me booked for interviews and blogs.
However, for one of my other careers, I had to record a video of me speaking. So maybe, with some practice, as a book publishing/author mentor told me: you have to do more than PowerPoint videos: you have to get in front of the camera.

But I was unaware we platinum members had any special posting privileges.
Oh, but we are, CEJ!
Even I was granted such a privilege. (“On Giving”)
Really?
I’m clueless.
Professor Ehrman regularly makes requests for platinum posts saying the queue is empty. You know if he’ll accept mine (not even a smidgen “scholastic”), anyone can post!

The blog is hardly traditional academic publishing, other than the degree to which Dr. Ehrman is trained in that area and adheres to many of the principles simply as a matter of habit and inclination. But writing about a topic in a way that is worthy of academic work is not nearly as easy as many people may think. The blog has the advantage of being less formal, and not needing to also be “original” material, which makes it a bit easier, but it is still generally more demanding than tossing off a quick paper in school.
Edit: None of that means that a lot of junk does not get published, because a lot of what gets published is mostly for the sake of being published and does not stand up over time. In literary circles, a great deal of what gets published is merely following trendy theories and I do know of people who have written and published papers that they feel embarrassed about, done only to appeal to a department chair or tenure/promotion committee.

Truly.

The posts are sent to the platinum members and then, after a few, we vote on the one for all the bloggers to read. I suggest you check with Diane to find out why you are not getting the posts.
