The devil is from god in that the former angel who became the devil was from god. The angel who became the father of lies was an angel with free will, I guess.

Falsehood is not a term of addition, it is a term of subtraction.
A positive 5 plus a positive 5 is not smaller than a positive 5 plus a negative 5.
I don’t buy that Goodness (** you do not have permission to see this link ** ) is one of the attributes of God.
People who wrote the bible didn’t have any idea about partition and fibers, terms, and attributes overlapping.
The result is the famous statement dealing with suffering: if God is not dead then He should be distracted.
I would add, also Evil or Perverted.
Ther’s nothing wrong with it. Lies are not negative, i.e. the opposite of the truth. Lies are just truths disguised for someone who could not hold the Truth. It’s an act of mercy.
The story of Satan is not particularly Jewish and was imported after Babylon. Like any other dichotomy, light/darkness, truth/falsehood, etc…

I’m not the one reporting the problem of the attributes of God. From memory, I cited the “small” God problem. But it’s just academic.
