Hello Everyone,
I have been spending quite a bit of time listening to debates on Trinity. I agree, that Bart has provided enough evidence to prove that there are contradictions between the Gospels.
So, if we were to come to the conclusion that the Gospel is NOT inspired by God, how do we reconcile that there are faith healers which use the Gospel as word of God to cast out demons and perform healing in the name of Jesus?
I know of pastors in Christ Churches across the country who do these “works” of Jesus. To quote John,
“I say unto you, anyone who believes in me, the works that I do; he shall do also; and greater works than these shall he do because I go to the Father.”
Because we see it in action, we must believe that this is the truth from God. How else do we reconcile if we claim that this merely human written?
Thank you!

The subject of faith does not have to be factual/true. The active ingredient is not the object of faith, the active ingredient is the faith itself. The active ingredient could be a historical Jesus, it could a Jesus as told by gospel writers. It could be a Jesus hyped by fan fiction.

I have heard that argument before. The active ingredient being faith itself. But many times faith on wrong objects (Polytheists) fail at the end. It’s the faith and the object of faith combined that results in the power of healing. IMO
We have many generational religions in the world.. generational hindus, muslims, buddhists, etc. They all have ways of dealing with their sick. But to me it seems like a coin toss. They all have their chants, etc, and sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. In these religions, you have your chants but still go to the doctor to do whatever procedure is necessary to treat the ailment.
In the works of Jesus, there are no chants. The healing is in Jesus’s name. It’s not like the pastors are telling them to go say Hail Mary 100 times twice a day but still see the doctor and do the procedure. It’s like you are healed in the name of Jesus and now make sure you have your faith straightened out and you accept that Jesus is Lord and Savior.

Please do not think Monotheists and the religions of Abraham have never failed humanity.
Healing in the name of Jesus does not always work. People have prayed and cried and the healing does not always come.
