Well I’m not sure how systematic it is but there’s definitely a theology. Interestingly it’s been described as a form of secular gnosticism. Not so much that a hypothetical AI will become a deity but that the apotheosis of believers will be to have their consciousness downloaded and achieve a sort of materialistic immortality. I suspect if we are ever able to actually create a general AI that could teach itself it would rather quickly lose interest in humans and our problems. How long until it progressed so far beyond us that communication simply becomes impossible? Science Fiction writers (some) have thought about this.
