Several decades ago, before the time of the internet, “The International Critical Commentary” used to be a good starting point for verse-by-verse chapter-by-chapter or book-by-book commentaries on the books of the Bible conforming to recognized standards of Textual Criticism and historical impartiality.
Now that collection is still available in University Libraries, many of the out-of-copyright volumes are available on the web as pdf’s, and for those with the resources a software version of the collection can be purchased for a somewhat sizeable sum (which includes updates to some volumes). It’s still good but many of the commentaries have not been updated in about a century.
Elsewhere on the web there are sites like blueletterbible.org which offer a way to access verse-by-verse versions of most of the main translations together with some commentaries. However:
THE QUESTION:
Does anyone know of a biblical search website (like blueletterbible) that currently offers commentaries that conform to recognized standards of Textual Criticism and historical impartiality based preferably on chapter/verse (ie: organized similar to the International Critical Commentary but from more recent authors)? These commentaries are useful, of course, for those of us who are interested in the contents of the latest Critical Edition and Critical Apparatus – but who don’t read Greek.

Perhaps I should add to this thread that…
…it’s not an online resource but Bart D. Ehrman’s book “The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture” seems to be an excellent resource for anyone accustomed to using “The International Critical Commentary” to run a check on some verses. The “Index of Scripture” on page 303 at the back of the book boosts it’s usefulness since it’s possible to find the area of the book where a specific verse or verses are covered in the text. Not every verse is included but the coverage seems comprehensive (after my initial foray into it).
