Grew up in a baptist/evangelical community but am not religious anymore. I read some of Barts book in my teens and have recently found renewed interest in early christianity and Jewish literature by reading Paul by NT Wright.

Who else is recommended for an “accurate” historical study of

1. Early Christianity

2. Why jews rejected Jesus as the messiah.

3. Why Paul is a trusted source for Christianity?

I’m sure there is a huge breadth of discussion but want to make sure I’m not only sucking in Ehrmans work. Please let me know if I could help elaborate in any way.

Adnantell, welcome.

Some scholars you might want to check out –

Paula Fredriksen

Joel Marcus

Dale B Martin

Mark Goodacre

Fredriksen writes a lot about early Jewish/Christian issues.  And she has a good book on Paul.
