Explain how something can be a formless void.
How can there be darkness when there are stars in space before the creation of Earth?
Stars in space before the creation of Earth means there was light in the heavens.
Light in the day and darkness at night refers to an Earth-perspective.
The light in the day comes from the Sun.
Let there be light means Let there be the Sun. Genesis is saying God created the Sun, a star.
There are 100 thousand million stars in the Milky Way galaxy alone.

So, there is agnosticism about the Creation of the universe.
But, Genesis is not about the universe, Genesis is about the Earth’s Solar System.

A wind from God? That’s probably a technically correct translation but it’s also flat and redolent of a tin ear. Possibly an awry attempt to rightly avoid a veneer of Nicaean Trinitarianism? It’s not fair to do this but –

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. There are indeed passages where I would prefer other translations to the KJV but not here.
