Sometimes “no one is saying the same thing you’re saying” is not a compliment.  Not that it’s true.

Oh, so you can say snarky things about your fellow atheists who engage in pseudo-scholarship relating to early Christianity.

Well, it’s a start.  😉

Steefen Regarding the Ralph Ellis Interview

#1 Jesus of Gamala died at the Battle of Galilee OR he escaped and went ahead of General Titus to Jerusalem.

#2 There he found the Idumeans were rebelling not only against a) different factions of the rebellion, b) the Romans but c) against the Temple Establishment.

#3 The Jesus of Gamala who left the battlefield (Sea of Galilee) of defeat found himself face-to-face with the Idumean rebel leader. They exchange speeches.
See YouTube video: High Priest vs. Rebel: 2 Speeches at the Temple of Jerusalem During the Jewish Revolt.

The next day, the Idumean rebel leader kills Jesus of Gamala and Ananus. Jesus was older than Ananus.

Jesus is NOT CRUCIFIED by Rome! This is one reason why the gospels can have Rome say, I find no fault in him–I’m against capital punishment: Jesus is not killed due to the Jewish Revolt, Jesus is killed due to the Jewish Civil War.

The second issue I had with Ralph is that he does not clearly show that a member of the Manu royal blood became a governor in Galilee under Herod Agrippa II. Manu represents “help beyond the Euphrates,” not a “local.” Both Menahem and Jesus of Gamala were rebels. The had separate deaths. They are not the same person. Are you saying Egypto-Gnostic Jesus from Parthia became a governor through the help of Helena and Izaates who helped with famine relief?

This reminds me of the third issue: Helena had two sons. You try to make Izaates = Izas/Jesus but Izaates had his own death, according to Josephus. Izaates was not Jesus of Gamala who was killed by the Idumeans.

There was only one person named Jesus in Palestine!!!!!!

** you do not have permission to see this link **

This simplifies matters so much!   Like now we can say that all the U.S. Presidents with the same first name are all the same person!  Way too many James’s and Georges to remember.  All those French and English kings with the same name–same person, screw the numbers.  And all the emperors were named Caesar–GEEZ!!!  Julius Caesar never died!  Well, not for a long time.  Hey, I bet Sid Caesar was actually Julius in disguise.  (And he was Jewish!   And sometimes played Caesar’s Palace in Vegas, the modern Rome!  It’s all coming together!)

Thanks so much for clearing this up, guys.
