Rocio Figueroa, a theologian, and sexual abuse survivor reading the “Passion narratives” of the Gospels, which describe Jesus’ arrest, trial, and crucifixion highlights how “Jesus suffered forced stripping.”
“Three times he was forced to take off his clothes, and it was in front of a cohort of 500 soldiers,” Figueroa said recognizing the signs of “sexual humiliation.” (Matthew 27:28-30)
Given that there is a difference between sexual humiliation and sexual assault, both forms of abuse, Jesus suffered sexual humiliation, forced nudity, mockery, stripping, or touching but not sexual assault.
It was common practice for both the Jewish community and the Romans to humiliate their victims as part of the crucifixion process.
The prisoners would be naked opened to all these sexual deviations.
Figueroa said, “If we see Jesus in his human reality, and that he suffered sexual humiliation and he felt what a victim could feel, that’s powerful. He also felt ashamed in his body. He felt mocked, he felt vulnerable, (like) a victim feels when their body is exposed without respect.”

Netflix faces controversy over the French film “Cuties” which has featured sexualized portrayals of young children. The film is about an 11-year-old girl who rebels against her conservative family to join a dance crew. Conservative Christians criticized some of the scenes as child pornography. Americans were the most furious in reacting to the movie. An online petition has asked for people to unsubscribe from Netflix in response. “Cuties” is filled with bare-midriffed young actresses portraying 11-year-old girls whirling seductively, twerking, and otherwise trying to look sexy in the continuous videos they film on their cellphones.
But the boy Jesus seeing what he had done, became angry, and said to him, Thou fool, what harm did the lake do thee, that thou shouldest scatter the water? Behold, now thou shalt wither as a tree, and shalt not bring forth either leaves, or branches, or fruit. And immediately he became withered all over.
