Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I will try my luck.

John Hinnels in one of his books says:

> In different passages the Testament of the Twelve
Patriarchs and I Enoch both include the contradictory ideas of the resurrection of the righteous only, and the resurrection of all men.

To prove his point, the author shows verse numbers to prove this.

> On the resurrection of the righteous only Test, of Simeon 6:7; Judah 25 : 7 f
and I Enoch 46. 6. On the resurrection of all men Test, of Benjamin 10:8 and
I Enoch 51 : 1.

To be honest, I didn’t see this in these verses.

For Enoch:

1 Enoch 46:6, I don’t see the resurrection of only rightouesness, but I see this in 45:5 and I also don’t see “all men resurrection” in 51:1, because if you also read 51:2-5, it definitely says that only righteousness will be resurrected.

For Simeon 6:7 and Benjamin 10:8, I also don’t agree to John(the author).

I’d appreciate if you could help me see John’s arguments – I don’t think such an author would make a mistake and it must be me who somehow doesn’t understand something.

Thanks Robert for answering. I appreciate it as I have been wanting to have the answer on this so much. If you have little time, I will engage in the discussion for a bit.

About Enoch:

I think I realized it. I read the thing from 45 to 52 and it made better sense now.

**Where it mentions resurrection of the righteous ONLY:**

1) see 45:1-2

concerning those who deny the name of the dwelling of the holy ones, and the Lord of Spirits, And into the heaven they shall not ascend, And on the earth they shall not come, Such shall be the lot of the sinners, Who have denied the name of the Lord of Spirits.

2) see 45:5

And I will transform the earth and make it a blessing, but the sinners and evil-doers shall not set foot thereon.

3) see 46:6 (as already discussed)

**Where it mentions resurrection of wicked as well**

I think we should start reading from (50) and not (51). See the whole (50) – it’s not big and it says that sinners will be able to repent if they want to as “lord’s compassion is great”.

I think what’s going on is that in 45-46, it explicitly says that sinners that have died will not even come to earth(i.e they won’t be raised up), where as in 50, it says that sinners will be given a chance to repent. I think here it means that they will also be raised up but if they don’t repent, they will be destroyed.

Question 1: I think you agree with my logic, right ?

Question 2: If the raise up(resurrection) happens on earth as bodily, what does `heaven` mean in Enoch ? It explicitly says “heaven” and “earth”.
