Here is a really good interview from Jacob Berman at his excellent YT site History Valley with Dr Kipp Davis, Dead Sea Scrolls specialist, about the DSSs and the problem of forgery. Davis was part of the team that determined that most of the DSSs texts purchased for the Museum of the Bible at the Smithsonian were forgeries. (Whoops!) The interview touches on other related issues as well. Check out Davis’ YT site too.
Another absorbing discussion between Dr Kipp Davis and Justin Sledge at Sledge’s YT site Esoterica. It’s fascinating to listen to younger experts up on the current scholarship. Stunning to consider the possibility that the community at Qumran may have not been enemies of the Temple establishment but intimately associated with them!

Why yes of course (sarcasm) there must’ve been peaceful political relationships between those in Jerusalem and the Qumran tribes despite their living out in the wilderness and thousands of years of other examples where people living out in wilderness are not political defectors or being persecuted. 🙄 ….like the Mormons or Moses and the Israelites. Happy days 🎶. Everything is fine n’ dandy, we just living out here in this desert of paradise out of free will.
