Genesis 1:14-18

If the Sun is to govern the day and the Moon to govern the night; what then when both the Sun and Moon are visible simultaneously at that location?

There is no day or night at such times. It is both day and night. 🤔

What is it called?

I’m thinking the divine law is the law given by G-d at Sinai. The ceremonial law is what distinguishes the peoples of Israel from other Nations. These comprise the Torah or Laws of Israel.

A conjunction is the word “and”. So we get “day” and “night”. In conference or a change in shift. Depending on the time. I think “or” is a conjunction.

When the Moon is visible there should be darkness? When the Sun is visible there should be light?

🫣 No, that’s not what verse 18 means. It means that light and darkness have forever been permanently separated. There is no such thing as darkness anymore that we can see. Only light as the day and night.

Life cannot exist in darkness. That is a scientific law. Darkness being absolute non existence of light anywhere. Temperature: absolute zero. No motion, vibrations exist at the atomic level. Motion, vibrations of atoms create heat which is a form of electromagnetic radiation which is a form of light itself. Whatever first caused the motion, vibrations is The Sound.

Therefore life cannot exist in darkness and light cannot exist without The Sound.

The Sound is caused by “and God said”

Only God can see the darkness. That is verse 4-5. God called the darkness night. That is the Vocative of God. Humans cannot see darkness and cannot speak the Vocative of God.

No. Light was within the darkness. G d separated light from dark. Let there be light is realized from the darkness.

I thinks that’s a jussive. Not what is called vocative. I think vocative might be Greek.

And stars are remnants of the light and Sound? Not bad.

Darkness and Light are both alike to Thee? Actually this makes a fair amount of sense. Face of Deep? See, I’ve always conceptualized Deep as water. But that’s not the case.

Sorry, correction — “Let there be” light is a jussive, or, a command. “Calling” night is possibly a vocative like you suggested.

Okay. So we’ve got two ideas here. 2. Day, night. 1. light, dark. So sun, moon govern night and day only. Not light and/ or dark. Kudos.

I know what the Moods of Greek verbs are, but I do not know how it changes the spelling. Everything is the Indicative mood 🤷‍♂️

The Sun and Moon are both visible simultaneously. Do the ancient people then stop whatever they’re doing and have a festival?

I, myself, would go running towards the hills and hide in a cave to escape the cosmic war about to begin.
