I’ve been thinking about purchasing The New Oxford Annotated Bible with Apocrypha. I understand there are 3 different verrsions. On the one hand, I’m inclined toward Bruce Metzger’s; yet the latest release seems to have been in 1991 so I’m concerned I might be missing more recent scholarship. Any advice on which to get?

Yea but then there is the value of expertise. Metzger was a giant in the field. Anyway, I think on the recommendation of others I will probably be be getting the Harper Collins
Get the latest version. I just purchased it and am thrilled with it. Being an academic, I need to stay up on the latest research as its constantly changing, but I also read previous research and thought because there’s a dialog between the two. Get the earlier one, too if you care about his work.
