Stephen said
Matthew’s community, like James and the Jerusalem church, were of the party of circumcision.
“This is my Son … listen to him“
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations … teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Where in Matthew’s gospel does Jesus command circumcision?
Mt 5:18-19 come to mind.

Well I used Paul’s euphemism “party of circumcision” to represent those early believers (which almost certainly included James and the Jerusalem church) who saw their devotion to Jesus as part of their Judaism. Paul is in constant controversy with these folks. Would the writer of the gospel of Matthew insist that male gentile converts be circumcised? Paul’s opponents certainly held that view. Based on his attitude towards the Law who would be surprised to find that Matthew would have been counted among their number? In the end Paul’s view won the day but it’s a mistake to assume all these authors agreed with him.

Jesus will fulfill the law and the prophets. That is, he will fulfill the prophecies in them and not one letter will change from the law until all has “happened”.
There is no command here to obey the mosaic law.
“anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
He is talking here of his own commands which he is about to give in the sermon on the mount. He ends the sermon with,
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.”
Nowhere does Matthew’s Jesus command circumcision for anyone.

You know, you come across like a Pentecostalist justifying his theology. You have a faith more than an argument.
I suspect you are convincing no one other than yourself.

What part do you not agree with?
I can’t break the fever of your faith for you, child.
Only you can do that.

Yes I was taught that rationalization too. In that strange fundamentalist world where “fulfill” means “do away with”.
