Yeah the gospels are loaded with all kinds of things: irony, contradictions, and hilarious stories because theologically they’re all still Jewish until being Baptized by the Holy Spirit which occurs after the Resurrection.
As a Christian the role models for being a Christian are not there until the Book of Acts, chapter 2. Their former selves in the gospels as Jews are not the role models for Christians.
