Peace and blessings to all, this is my first post and inquiry. My question to professor Dr. Ehrman, I’m reading your book, A Brief Introduction to the New Testament and in Box 2.3, it has the date of Augustus Caesar ruling Rome and his death in 14C.E. Now in the Bible, in the book of John 19:15, the crowd who wanted Jesus crucified made the declaration that Caesar was their King. Problem is if Jesus was crucified around 30-33 C.E. and Ceasar died in 14C.E. who are these people talking about? Tiberius would have been king and I don’t remember Tiberius being titled Ceasar. Please correct my ignorance.
