Hello,
I just joined the forums and I was curious about something I saw a couple years ago but never had the right audience to ask. I watched a special on History Channel about a group of Christians on an island near Spain that did not believe Jesus was divine, simply a man and nothing more. Within this show, it was discussed how Mary Magdalene and a small group of Christians left and went to this island and lived out their lives there. It did not imply that they (Jesus & Mary) were married or anything of the sort. It was really just about this group of Christians that didn’t believe Christ was divine. The producer was interviewing different citizens that currently had the last name Magdalene and apparently “Magdalene” is the most common last name on the island. Has anybody ever read or seen anything about that subject? Any evidence that it is actually true?

A strange phenomena if Mary actually moved there and had offspring. First wouldn’t Mary have had Joseph’s last name by this point? IF she didn’t, wouldn’t she have taken the name if she married another? How far did the producer go in determining if all those people really had that last name. Is the name Magdalene really so unique?
