You had Hezekiah, Eleazar son of Deinaeus, Theudas, etc in the time of Jesus. There seem to have been quite a number of these people. Not one mention of any who were crucified as Jesus was (that I know about). Why would that be? Proclaiming oneself as messiah may have been what got Jesus executed…but then why not the others as well?

The Samaritan Redeemer who was executed under Pontius Pilate may or may not have been crucified. The translation I am using of the Works of Josephus says “slain” by Pontius Pilate.
Has anyone come across an account of Pontius Pilate crucifying a criminal?
The biblical Jesus is a composite character of historical fiction. Do not expect to find crucifixions during the office/administration of the historical Pontius Pilate as opposed to the Biblical Pontius Pilate.
The Biblical Jesus was crucified with two other people. Consider the following.
Who were up for crucifixion?
Answer Bar Abbas who was involved in an insurrection.
insurrection: a violent uprising against an authority or government.
Apparently, the two people who were crucified with Jesus were part of an insurrection.
The Jewish Establishment used Judas to claim Jesus had insurrection tendencies.
Jesus had disciples. One would think the disciples of one deserving crucifixion should be crucified also.
Long story shortened: the three men crucified in the gospels do not represent the same insurrection; in fact, there was no insurrection during the time of Pontius Pilate.
Insurrection deserving crucifixions occurred during the Jewish Revolt and it is about that time, perhaps 70 CE when Joseph saw three men crucified for the insurrection against Rome.

The Samaritan Redeemer probably was killed but not crucified because, as I see it, leading people to see artifacts is not that big of a deal. Now, if he were redeeming Exodus sensibilities, even that should not be a big deal. They would have left Rome as the Israelites left Egypt? To go where?

You can read Professor Ehrman’s post dated October 18, 2019, entitled Why Was Jesus Crucified? He makes it clear it was for calling himself the King of the Jews. There are many posts about this. Just use the search engine to find them (Why Was Jesus Crucified?).
Yes, the Biblical Jesus started a Son of Man movement where he claimed there would a kingdom of Heaven/God/Righteousness and stated he was the Son of Man at the head of this kingdom.
Jesus did not approach the Roman Empire to set up this kingdom. One does not just set up a theocracy WITHIN an empire without getting the support of the empire, even if it is just a spiritual/religious kingdom.
