Actually the post was a message, I intended to send to Prof. Bart D. Ehrman.

Dear Prof. Part
Dear Colleagues

I enjoyed reading, The New Testament – A Historical Introduction.
Kindly, find here some interesting points regards the similarity of historical information from some uncanonical Gospels and the Holly Muslim’s Quran.

1- The birth, growth of Mary.

The New Testament – A Historical Introduction (The Proto-Gospel of James. )(page 225 6th Ed.(:
Mary herself was born miraculously and was set apart for the service of God at a young age.

……..

Mary’s parents were a righteous and exceedingly wealthy Jew named Joachim and his faithful wife Anna… Her birth was super natural—much like those of the prophet Samuel in the Hebrew Bible and John the Baptist in the New Testament: her mother was older and barren, until God heard her prayers and gave her a child. Mary was raised in complete holiness: at the age of three, she was given over to the Temple, where she lived until she was twelve, cared for and fed by an angel of God.

Quran: Surah 3. The Family Of ‘Imran
35. Behold! a woman of ‘Imran said: “O my Lord! I do dedicate unto Thee what is in my womb for Thy special service: So accept this of me: For Thou hearest and knowest all things.”

  1. When she was delivered, she said: “O my Lord! Behold! I am delivered of a female child!”- and Allah knew best what she brought forth- “And no wise is the male Like the female. I have named her Mary, and I commend her and her offspring to Thy protection from the Evil One, the Rejected.”
  2. Right graciously did her Lord accept her: He made her grow in purity and beauty: To the care of Zakariya was she assigned. Every time that he entered (Her) chamber to see her, He found her supplied with sustenance. He said: “O Mary! Whence (comes) this to you?” She said: “From Allah. for Allah Provides sustenance to whom He pleases without measure.”
  3. There did Zakariya pray to his Lord, saying: “O my Lord! Grant unto me from Thee a progeny that is pure: for Thou art He that heareth prayer!
  4. While he was standing in prayer in the chamber, the angels called unto him: “(Allah) doth give thee glad tidings of Yahya (John the baptist), witnessing the truth of a Word from Allah, and (be besides) noble, chaste, and a prophet,- of the (goodly) company of the righteous.”
  5. He said: “O my lord! How shall I have a son seeing I am very old and my wife is barren?” “Thus” was the answer “doth Allah accomplish whatt He willeth.”

2- The Draft (Lots)
The New Testament – A Historical Introduction (page 225 6th Ed.(:

All the single men of Israel were summoned, lots were drawn,

Quran : Surah 3. The Family of ‘Imran

44. This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger.) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point).

3- Birth of Jesus Crist – and birth of John the Baptist (first named John in History as Quran said)

The New Testament – A Historical Introduction (The Proto-Gospel of James)(page 226 6th Ed.(:
Joseph found a cave in the wilderness where she could give birth in private,

Quran Surah 19. Mary – (Maryam)
2. (This is) a recital of the Mercy of thy Lord to His servant Zakariya.

  1. Behold! he cried to his Lord in secret,
  2. Praying: “O my Lord! infirm indeed are my bones, and the hair of my head doth glisten with grey: but never am I unblest, O my Lord, in my prayer to Thee!
  3. “Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,-
  4. “(One that) will (truly) represent me, and represent the posterity of Jacob; and make him, O my Lord! one with whom Thou art well-pleased!”
  5. (His prayer was answered): “O Zakariya! We give thee good news of a son: His name shall be Yahya: on none by that name have We conferred distinction before.”
  6. He said: “O my Lord! How shall I have a son, when my wife is barren and I have grown quite decrepit from old age?”
  7. He said: “So (it will be) thy Lord saith, ‘that is easy for Me: I did indeed create thee before, when thou hadst been nothing!'”

….

  1. Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.
  2. She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent her our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects.
  3. She said: “I seek refuge from thee to ((Allah)) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear Allah.”
  4. He said: “Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a holy son.
  5. She said: “How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?”
  6. He said: “So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, ‘that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us’:It is a matter (so) decreed.”
  7. So she conceived him, and she retired with him to a remote place.

4- Killing and crucifying Jesus

The New Testament – A Historical Introduction (page 232 6th Ed.(:BOX 13.4
According to Basilides. When Jesus was going to the place of crucifixion, with Simon of Gyrene carrying his cross, he pulled a miraculous identity-switch. He transformed Simon of Gyrene’s appearance to make him look like him, Jesus, while he himself took on the appearance of Simon. As a result, the Romans, not realizing what had happened, crucified the wrong person, while Jesus, standing by the cross In the form of Simon,

Quran : Surah 4. Women
157. That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

5- Making clay sparrows and raising dead

The New Testament – A Historical Introduction (The Infancy Gospel of Thomas)(page 225 6th Ed.(

When he first appears in this text, he is making clay sparrows by a stream on the Sabbath. ….. the child Jesus claps his hands and tells the sparrows to be gone. They come to life and fly off,…..(Jesus later raises him from the dead,

Quran: Surah 3. The Family of ‘Imran
49. “And (appoint him) an apostle to the Children of Israel, (with this message): “‘I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah.s leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah.s leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe;

  1. “‘(I have come to you), to attest the Law which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (Before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me.
  2. “‘It is Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.'”
  3. When Jesus found Unbelief on their part He said: “Who will be My helpers to (the work of) Allah.” Said the disciples: “We are Allah.s helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims.
  4. “Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow the Messenger. then write us down among those who bear witness.”
  5. And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah.
  6. Behold! Allah said: “O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute

———
Have a nice time, and I wish prof. Bart compare between Jesus and Mary in New Testament books and in Holly Quran.

The Quran, we received in the 7th century, none of the manuscripts were available for Mohamed (the profit of Islam to use for his book)
The Quran was transferred to us by memorization, not by manuscripts (God made it easy to memorize 600 pages). Hundreds of thousands are memorizing it up to now.
