Hi,

I have some questions

1. Why Basilides interpret Simon of Cyrene was crucified, not Jesus?

2. Did he had another gospel? since we now there was ambiguous passage on Mark (15:20-26), Mathew (27:31-37) and Luke (23:26-34,38) regarding Simon of Cyrene bring the cross and crucify. This led the average reader to think that Simon of Cyrene was crucified

3. Is there any possibility that Gospel in Basilides hand just stop at that point? and the rest story is additional story from Orthodox side

Just guessing, since look like at this point, we start see Psalm 22 and “Suffering Messiah” Isaiah 53 come into the picture. Ideas of Messiah that die on the Cross.

thanks for the answers
