People have privately asked me why I would use this forum for a partial, 63 page book review. The book is entitled: The Semitic Secret: How Biblical Authors Organized Their Books to Include both a Dictionary/Commentary and a Method to Disclose Scribal Errors. Let me explain by quoting a review by James Tabor, of UNC Charlottesville:
“Robert, I did spend about three hours looking through the electronic version of your book. I am sorry to say I can’t endorse the method or the conclusions. We will just have to agree to disagree. My own take on the style and structure of Mark, for example, is quite the opposite of yours.”
In that quote, you see that what I have discovered in Mark disagrees with conventional views, including probably everyone’s on this forum. I have discovered that authors of most books of the Bible were following a disciplined set of rules that I call, Semitic Parallelism. This system provided a uniform structure to their texts, a way to tell when a copyist deleted text or inserted text. With that information, we can reconstruct to a large extent the original document. Further, the structure provides an internal dictionary for metaphors, and an internal commentary on the meaning of sections of the work. If my discoveries are correct, we have not been reading the Bible correctly for over 1800 years. If that is correct, then the theological, research, and commentary conclusions for that period should be questioned.
For example, if you read the 63 core pages of my book, you will discover that Mark
- Is theologically anti-Pauline, which means, that he would not endorse Christianity today, and that Mark
- Provides an alternative explanation for Jesus’ mission and gospel, one that is not known or taught today.
Consequently, anyone who positively reviews my book may discredit his own publications and reputation. That is why I need to find reviewers who are willing to consider very unorthodox ideas.
In order to review these pages (which are the core of a much larger book of examples), one will need to devote six to eight hours to detailed reading and analysis. If this person finds merit in Semitic Parallelism, he will be rewarded with an abundance of material for his own research and writing.
I hope you are this person.
Thank you for considering this project. The 63 pages of the book can be downloaded at: ** you do not have permission to see this link **
