And what about the Gospel of John?

Gospel of John, chapter 6, verses 53-59

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in men, and I in them.

the original Lord of Resurrection: Osiris/Serapis
a later Lord of Resurrection: Jesus

Syncretism

the amalgamation or attempted amalgamation of different religions, cultures, or schools of thought.
“interfaith dialogue can easily slip into syncretism”

Christianity contains the Cult of Osiris/Serapis.

Book of the Dead:
Die as Osiris and Rise/Resurrect as Osiris.

Romans 6:3-8:
Be Baptized/Die with Christ and Rise/Resurrect with Christ

Going into the second edition of my book Historical Accuracy because the first edition did not address the content of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

I cannot just speak against the metaphorical cannibalism in the Last Supper showing how in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, cannibalism is a sign of defeat when people are under siege. It would be incomplete to not tie Jesus’ ritual to the ritual and/or content in the cults of Osiris/Serapis and Isis.

Part 1

So in a metaphorical and spiritual sense, the body of Lord Osiris is his Kingdom, and the limbs or members that compose that body are the members of his kingdom- the chosen people of the holy land of Kemet.

Therefore, as concerns Lord Osiris, the chosen people of Egypt “are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.” They “are the body of” Osiris, “and members in particular.” They “being many, are one body in” Osiris, “and every one members one of another.”

And although Seth hath said
“I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad,” [See Matthew 26:31]

our Lord hath said

“I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings! [See Matthew 23:37]

Even as this broken” body “was scattered over the hills, and was gathered together and became one, so let thy congregation be gathered together from the ends of the earth into thy kingdom. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is” Osiris, and his kingdom.

= = = =

1 Corinthians 12: 11-13

All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as he determines.

The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ.

For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given on e Spirit to drink.

For the body does not consist of one part, but of many.

if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.

And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.

Continue with verses 17-31.

Part 2

Osiris was one of the lunar gods of ancient Egypt, in particular the god of the moon during spring season.

This lunar aspect of Osiris was at the root of the motif of his bodily dismemberment, for the moon was believed to be dismembered into 14 pieces as it waned into darkness, but was reassembled piece by piece over the following 14 nights as it waxed into a full moon again.

= = =

In a scene from a Third Intermediate Period coffin, the light of the disk causes grain to spring forth from the mummy of Osiris.
Dr. Colleen Manassa, The Late Egyptian Underworld [16]

= = =

Thriving are the fields of the Netherworld,

As Re shines over the body of Osiris.

At your rising the plants appear.

These verses are well illustrated on a painted coffin of Dynasty 21 showing ears of grain ripening out of Osiris’s body[17] below a solar disk embraced by a pair of arms.

Dr. Erik Hornung, The Valley of the Kings: Horizon of Eternity

= = =

New life, in the form of a crop of grain, sprouts from the body of the dead Osiris and completes another cycle in the circuit order. Osiris embodies the principle of rebirth and resurrection and is associated with everything that follows the pattern: the sun, the moon, the stars, the river, the plants, and the soul. He is “Lord of Everything.”

Dr. Edwin C. Krupp, Echoes of the Ancient Skies: The Astronomy of Lost Civilizations [24]

= = =

One of the most interesting magical objects in this room was a wooden mold in the shape of Osiris. This mold was lined with linen and filled with rich topsoil deposited by the Nile. Seeds, mostly for grain, were planted in the topsoil. When they sprouted, they would be a green, living representation for Osiris, symbolizing resurrection. Tutankhamen had sought to identify himself with Osiris in that way and bring about his resurrection.

Dr. Bob Brier, Ancient Egyptian Magic [26]

= = =

Further references to Osiris’s vegetative power are found in the “Osiris beds” of royal and private burials in the Valley of the Kings. These consisted of a wooden base in the form of the god’s silhouette covered with fertile soil and sown with grain, the green shoots bringing to life the mythical revival of the lord of the Beyond, and vicariously that of the deceased himself.

Dr. Erik Hornung, The Valley of the Kings: Horizon of Eternity [28]

= = =

As the god of reborn grain, which was the central dietary staple throughout ancient Egypt, Osiris was believed to be the providers of food for all the kingdom. And not just the kingdom of Egypt, but he fed all the kingdom of the gods in the Netherworld…

= = = =

Fig. 14: The twelve grain gods of Osiris; based on the 7th Hour of the Book of Gates as seen in the tomb of Ramesses III, KV11, 12th century BCE. “Those who generate food from Lower Egyptian barely in the fields of the Netherworld. … The greenery of these, among whom you are, belongs to Osiris that he is content with it.”[32]
And this is where it gets really interesting, because we thus get the twelve gods of Osiris who carry twelve baskets of bread which feed the gods.

12 gods of Osiris bearing 12 baskets of bread which feed the gods and their ka, 7th hour gates

Fig. 15: Twelve gods of Osiris carry twelve baskets of bread to feed the gods and their ka; based on the 7th Hour of the Book of Gates, as seen in the tomb of Ramesses III, KV11, 12th century BCE.

How fascinating given the popularity of the much later story featuring a certain Levantine shepherd god likewise feeding his community, which involved his 12 servants and 12 baskets of miraculous bread.

= = =

Needless to say, the Egyptians used their grain to make the bread they ate. And wouldn’t you know it, the aforementioned grain which grew directly from the flesh of Osiris was likewise made into bread which was then eaten for the purpose of giving new life.

the flesh of Osiris was transformed into grain, which was then used to make cakes of bread, i.e. part of his body literally became bread and was eaten. The body of Osiris was transubstantiated into bread, bread which imparted divine power and life.

Such being the case, it became customary at certain festivals to bake loaves of bread in the shape of the body of Osiris, and then divide, or break, the bread into individual body parts in remembrance of how his body was broken by Seth.

Raise yourself to this bread of yours which knows no mouldiness and your beer which knows no sourness, that you have a soul thereby, that you may be effective thereby, that you may be powerful thereby.

Pyramid Texts, Utterance 457 § 859 [49]

= = =

You eldest son of Geb … He who presides over Khem raises you and has given a t-wr loaf and this grape-juice.

Pyramid Texts, Utterance 610 § 1710, 23 [50]

= = =

I am Osiris … the gods live on me. … I am emmer.

Coffin Texts, Spell 330 IV, 168-69 [53]

= = =

That’s all quite explicit. Long before the Common Era, the Egyptians ceremonially ate the broken body of their god Osiris in the form of broken bread transubstantiated from his flesh, and for the purpose of granting them eternal life after death. Sounds very familiar, no?

Egyptian religion – flesh transubstantiated to bread
Christian Catholicism – objects of Holy Communion transubstantiated to flesh

Transubstantiation – the idea that during Mass, the bread and wine used for Communion become the body and blood of Jesus Christ – is central to the Catholic faith. Indeed, the Catholic Church teaches that “the Eucharist is ‘the source and summit of the Christian life.

Part 3: This is my blood, drink.

Romans 6:3-8:
Be Baptized/Die with Christ and Rise/Resurrect with Christ
Apostle Paul

“When Osiris was originally killed by Seth, his death came by way of drowning. Seth locked him in a coffin and then buried him alive in the waters of the Nile, baptizing him into death, if you will.”

Argumentation Specialist/Debate Judge:
I will allow it at this point.

Another Edit to the book: The God of Moses was not the first to turn the Nile into blood because the blood of Osiris turned the Nile red because Seth dismembered him.

“This myth was how the Egyptians explained the origins of the Nile’s annual flooding season, the Great Inundation as they called it, which was essential to the success of their crops and thus essential to their survival. As the water levels rose with the flooding each year, excess soil full of minerals washed into the Nile giving it a reddish color. Through the inundation of the Nile, Osiris watered all the crops of Egypt with his blood.”

When the season of Inundation comes, provide the efflux which issued from Osiris
Pyramid Texts, Utterance 667A § 1944 [5]

I have quenched my thirst with the efflux of my father Osiris. O Isis, [I have quenched] my thirst with the high Nile, with the flood of Osiris.
Coffin Texts, Spell 362 V, 22 [8]

So Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
Exodus 24: 8
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Mark 10: 45
This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
Mark 14: 24

Pick up after the pictures of rivers turning the color of blood or new (red) wine.

Jesus’ blood is wine.
Osiris’ blood is wine.

Who was the Father of Osiris, Lord of Resurrection?
Answer: unlike Mother Earth, Gaia, the Earth, named Geb was the Father of Osiris and Nut, the sky goddess was his mother.

We are children on earth, Our Parent = Our Father, Geb, and Our Mother, Nut.

Resurrection on earth, Geb/Gaia–earthly resurrection

Isis was his sister and wife.
Seth was his brother.
Osiris and Isis had a son, Horus.
Mother and child: Isis and and Horus

When Ra was in the underworld, he merged with Osiris, the god of the dead, Lord of Resurrection.

Ra (also given as Re) is the sun god of ancient Egypt. He is one of the oldest deities in the Egyptian pantheon and was later

merged with others such as Horus, becoming Ra-Horakhty (the morning sun),

Amun (as noonday sun), and

Atum (the evening sun) associated with primal life-giving energy.

Egyptis home to some of the oldest winemaking traditions on Earth. Archaeological finds, including ceremonial tomb paintings, have shown that wine was produced in Egypt as far back as the third millennium B.C.

Today there are only perhaps three Egyptian wineries in operation (one of which imports grapes from Lebanon. This is not just because of the religious and political context; Egypt’s climate is simply too hot and dry to support viticulture on any scale. Although vines are famously fond of dry conditions, they need a certain amount of water for respiration and photosynthesis.

The famously fertile Nile Delta (one of the world’s largest river deltas) is the only part of Egypt where viticulture is a practical enterprise. The delta is formed as the Nile River fans out before draining into the Mediterranean. It stretches westwards along the coast from Port Said to Alexandria (home of the Muscat of Alexandria grape), and thus benefits from the cooling effects of the nearby sea.

However, in Ancient Egypt, Osiris was credited as being responsible for the source of wine.

= = =

Osiris appears … The Lord of wine in flood, his seasons have recognized him, his times have remembered him, and the King is recognized by his seasons with him, his times with him have remembered him.

Pyramid Texts, Utterance 577 § 1520, 24 [24]

= = =

Who is the Egyptian god of wine?
Shezmu is the ancient Egyptian demonic god of execution, slaughter, blood, oil, wine and perfume. Like many of the gods of Ancient Egypt, Shezmu was of a complex nature.

= = =

Who is the god of alcohol in Egypt?
Asar: As the Egyptian God of agriculture, Asar (spelled Osiris in the Greek language) was responsible for both wine and beer. He was also known as the Egyptian God of life, death and fertility (seeing how he was one of the oldest gods, he had a lot of time to build up his resume).

= = =

Is Osiris the god of wine?
Osiris’ turn:

Osiris will also die (drowned in the Nile) by his brother this time: Seth. It is his sister Isis who will use his power and make him resurrected. Osiris then becomes the dead Egyptian god. He is considered lord of wine during the Ouag (feasts of the dead) festivals.

= = =

The gods of wine: Bacchus, Dionysus and Osiris are quite controversial in Greece and for the Romans because they are also associated with orgies and excesses (therefore guilty of the frenzy of humans).

What is also interesting to note is that each god of wine died and then resurrected in his own way (always thanks to a “savior”).

Of course, Jesus could make wine.

So his blood turned the Nile waters red like wine, and because it irrigated the grapes, those same bloody waters literally became wine. This led to the belief that the blood of Osiris turned water into wine. Hence the deceased Egyptians, who identified with Osiris, say:

You gods, my water is wine like that of Re.

Pyramid Text Utterance 210 § 130 [27]

The Nile turned red during the inundation, which suggests the color of wine.
Dr. Mu-chou Poo, in UCLA Encyclopedia of Egyptology [34]

[A]ncient Egyptians related the grape harvest and the new season’s winemaking with the Nile flooding. At these times the Nile water acquired a reddish colour due to the ferrous alluvium of the Blue Nile and the Atbara rivers coming from the Ethiopian land. The Nile flood was related to the resurrection of the god Osiris who, according to mythology was found dead in the Nile after being killed by his brother Seth. The blood of Osiris was related with the new season’s wine. Wine symbolism is first documented in the Pyramid Texts of the Fifth Dynasty. Osiris was the first god who returned to life and like him Egyptians had to be resurrected after death in order to progress to the afterlife. As can be seen in the Theban tomb of Sennefer, the tomb ceiling has been decorated with a painted vine symbolizing the rebirth of the dead. The grapes and the wine were considered the symbol of resurrection.

Dr. Maria R. Guasch et al., in Proceedings of the Ninth International Congress of Egyptologists: Volume 1 [35]

= = =

Wine is called ‘the blood of Osiris’, a process of transubstantiation.

Dr. John G. Griffiths, Apuleius of Madauron: The Isis-Book [40]

See Luke Chapter 22: 17-18
Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves.

For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

I am this figure of One drowned, that testifieth by writing, that resteth on the other side [?] here under the great offering-table of Abydos; as to which the blood of Osiris bore witness to her [?] name of Isis when it was poured into the cup, this wine. Give it, blood of Osiris that he gave to Isis to make her feel love in her heart for him night and day at any time…

= = =

Maybe Holy Communion wine can make one feel the love of Jesus in our hearts, night and day, at any time.

Not just wine, but beer also:

O Osiris the King, take the ferment(?) which issued from you—beer.

Pyramid Texts, Utterance 49 § 37 [56]

Your beer has flooded in, even the efflux of which came out of Osiris.

Coffin Texts, Spell 68 I, 291 [57]

This grain and beer was said to be red in color, just like wine, also likely signifying the color of the very blood from which it was produced.

May you swallow beer of red emmer at the pure place.

Coffin Texts, Spell 225 III, 236 [58]

Needless to say at this point, this red barley wine, or red beer, was used as an alternative to grape wine in those same aforementioned rituals of identifying the Egyptian with Osiris, in which they drank his blood.
