The author of Acts, in chapters 13 – 28, do not mention the letters of Paul or the contents of the letters of Paul.
written between 80s and early 100s
traditionally held to have been written by Luke
changed from first person singular to first person plural
Luke wrote neither the gospel nor Acts
author is never named
the we passages were not necessarily written by the author of acts because they could have been excerpted from another travel companion’s journal and incorporated into this book as some of the Gospel of Mark was incorporated into the Gospel of Luke.
Most of the Pauline Letters in which Paul speaks of Luke the physician are no long thought to be written by Paul.
The author of Acts makes no reference to Paul’s prodigious letter-writing or to the major issues addressed in Paul’s letters:
Corinthian Church issues
Salvation by Faith and Grace
The ascension of Jesus at the end of Luke does not match up with the ascension of Jesus in Acts.
Re: Two guys on the Emmaus Road, Luke 24
24:50-53
Jesus was taken up to heaven on Easter evening
But Acts 1:1-5 Jesus was on Earth after Easter for forty days.
How well did the author of Acts know the author of Luke?
The cross and the resurrection is not the end.
Give Jesus 40 more days to kick off the story of Christianity.
Acts 1: 15-20 “The field was called in their language” signifies Luke is saying, he is not Jewish.
Matthew lets Judas return the 40 pieces of silver, Luke does not.
Some material that should have appeared in Luke the Gospel did not appear until Part II, the Acts.
(Example not provided. Maybe research this or someone else knows about this.)

Luke first wrote the Acts. After this he compiled testimonies, second hand accounts and existing documents, including other Gospels to create The Gospel of Luke. He doesn’t give his name, but I am fine with the tradition connecting him to these works. As soon as you write something like the Gospel of Luke you will get people calling it by that name, if only to distinguish it from other accounts. Luke was with Paul on that last journey to Rome. It’s Occam Razor here – it’s simpler to see Luke on that boat and not some unknown author from another century. The shipping account alone is quite unique in the ancient world – it wasn’t made up, and it clearly wasn’t passed down for generations.
