Paul was from the Zealot philosophy of the Four, and the Pharisees, both. As a Roman citizen he tried to conceal his identity with the Zealots and would use the identity of Pharisee instead. Acts 21:38
However, being formerly of both philosophies he was trying to overthrow all four sects of the philosophies. It’s often forgotten that every significant character of the Old Testament Bible had used some sort of deception. Abraham deceived pharaoh about Sarah and gained wealth from it, Jacob and Esau deceived Isaac over the birthright, Joseph was deceived by his brothers and sold to Egypt, Moses had to conceal his murder of an Egyptian, the list goes on, 1 Samuel 21:12-15 David deceives by pretending that he’s insane, the list goes on and on through every story. Deception is a motif of the Old Testament.

Paul concealed his identity as a Zealot before the Roman Courts. There’s always a deception. Paul is inventing new words of Jew within Galatians to conceal that he was a former member of the Zealots. The Zealots were plotting war against the Roman Empire which eventually occurred a few years after the execution of Paul shortly before the Jewish Roman Wars.
