Sadly, that right is not imaginary as long as we allow ourselves to remain slaves to it. (And didn’t you understand that children are only worth protecting before they are born?)

Vinzent’s theory that Marcion was the first gospel writer who created a literary genre copied by Mark, Luke, Matthew, and John relies on a question and a hypothesis.

The question: If Marcion only shortened an already existing gospel, why such a reaction by second century writers? Marcion’s work must have been of a different caliber.

The hypothesis: As soon as we distrust Irenaeus and Tertullian (both claimed that Marcion corrupted Luke) and reckon with Marcion’s gospel the source of all the gospels, the synoptics become witness of Marcion’s gospel.

“Had Marcion written the very first Gospel and created a literary genre, Paul would have been recorded in it as an Apostle. Paul’s absence in ‘his’ Luke is the Achille heel that allows to dismiss Marcion as the first Gospel writer.

But we cannot dismiss Marcion-the-heretical who was one of the most significant co-founders of the Greco-Roman Church after challenges had been blowing full sail.”

And Now “My Way”

The temple was the center of Hellenistic Judaism that got along with the Empire on a slightly different basis than other religions. The temple was recaptured from the Hellenists by insurgents, nationalist Jews. Rome came to the aid of the Hellenists and suppressed the uprising, destroying the Temple at the same time. Rome and the Hellenists continued to cooperate. By the time. Then Domitian came and taxed all Hellenists according to the appearance of the penis. A group of Hellenists had the idea of separating themselves from Judaism using a true or imaginary story that would break the heart of any listener. They supported their offer with LXX exegesis and tried their hand at the synagogues. It wasn’t going very well. But someone noticed that this heartbreaking story attracts those who have no idea about the LXX. Gentiles. The guy’s name was Marcion.

There is a much more interesting hypothesis.  Rather than editing Luke, Marcion had an earlier version of it.   Luke chapter 3 looks an awful lot like the beginning of a gospel heavily dependent on Mark.  Luke even demonstrates adoptionist tendencies like Mark.  Perhaps Luke was subsequently redacted as a response to the popularity of Matthew resulting in the version passed on by later Christians?   That makes more sense than Marcion conspiracy theories.

This was the first hypothesis I came across. ** you do not have permission to see this link **

Rome came to Judea first because of the attack on Legion XII Fulminata.

The Temple was the center of Judaism. I do not think one can say the Temple was the center of Hellenistic Judaism to the exclusion of the rest of Judaism.

Yes, the Idumeans did not like the Temple authorities.

The Romans are not to bear 100% of the blame for the destruction of the Temple. The Jewish Civil War shut down the Temple, as per the Wars of the Jews. Second, the Temple’s destruction started the day before General Titus was going to initiate the destruction.

Paul does not need to be in any gospel that ends, what?, no more than four days after the crucifixion of Jesus.
There is no Achilles’ heel, here. That does not dismiss Marcion as the first Gospel writer.

So the invention of Gentile Christianity is a result of taxation.

“A story that would break the heart of any listener” is the likeness of a betrayed Julius Caesar raised on a cross by Mark Antony who eulogized him.

The heartbreaking story of course attracted those who had no idea about the Septuagint.

“Yes, remember how at the funeral of Julius Caesar, the crowd was TOTALLY overcome with grief when the likeness of Caesar with stab wombs was raised on a cross. We’ve got to get Jesus raised on a cross like THAT.”

All: CRUCIFIXION!

“Make Jesus die by crucifixion, not by his mother eating half of him and offering the other half to others, not by him dying in battle, not by him being stabbed to death. …  Jesus on the cross – and give him a stab womb.”

“From a man named Longinus”

“That’s going too far, don’t you think? Longinus stabbed Julius Caesar.”

Longinus is the name given to the unnamed Roman soldier who pierced the side of Jesus with a lance and who in medieval and some modern Christian traditions is described as a convert to Christianity. His name first appeared in the apocryphal Gospel of Nicodemus. Wikipedia

Julius Caesar came after Pompey the Great who was beheaded.

Jesus must come after a predecessor who was beheaded: let’s behead John the Baptist.
