Hi all, new member of the forum here. I couldn’t access the forum rules for some reason, so hopefully this coheres to them!
I have an interest in the Greek of the New Testament, currently owning somewhere over 200 books on Ancient / Koine Greek and linguistics, but most by Christian authors.
I am about to start reading Jermo van Nes’ book “Pauline Language and the Pastoral Epistles – A Study of Linguistic Variation in the Corpus Paulinum” published by Brill. I am not posting a link here as I am aware that some forums don’t allow links by new members. Nes argues (from the blurb) “… Since all of these explanatory factors are compatible with current authorship hypotheses of the PE, Van Nes suggests to no longer use language as a criterion in debates about their authenticity.”
Any ideas on the most up to date / thorough linguistic treatments arguing for non-Pauline authorship of the Deutero-Pauline writings? I would like to read something comparable from a viewpoint opposing van Nes to balance my understanding. I will run through his bibliography, but good to know if others have ideas.
