The authentic writings of “Paul” put forth religious thought about the meaning of the death of a redeemer/messiah.
The only redeemer/messiah who got the death penalty by Pontius Pilate was the Samaritan Restorer.
The Jewish Revolt in the late 60s early 70s is not called the Samaritan Revolt. So, the writings of Paul and the writings of the gospels would need to change the Samaritan restorer/redeemer/messiah to a Jewish restorer/redeemer/messiah.
The apostle Paul was not present at the crucifixion of Christ, yet he declared that this act was an act of cosmic and supernatural proportions. Paul did not give an account of the event, only an account of the Last Supper/Communion.
For Paul, how important would it be for him to stick to historical accuracy that the Samaritan Redeemer was slain by the authority of Pontius Pilate instead of crucified?
In the gospels, Jesus speaks of “your law” not “our law”. This phrasing allows for an original Jesus who was other than Jewish, possibly the Samaritan Restorer/Redeemer/Messiah.
All critical scholars hold that the authentic writings of Paul came before the gospels.
So, let that be.
Here, Paul could be the originator while Jesus is a better packaging of Paul.
Paul says at Romans 2:1
You therefore have no excuse, you who pass judgment on another. For on whatever grounds you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
Jesus says at Luke 6:42
How can you say, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while you yourself fail to see the beam in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Paul, a Jew, takes the Samaritan Restorer event makes it his own by making him a Jewish redeemer and we are off to the races.
Josephus takes over Paul’s project. He embellishes it with his autobiography by saying the Jewish Redeemer was not only crucified but he was crucified between two insurrectionists–because there were insurrectionists in 69/70 C.E.
Paul is the skeleton Jesus.
Paul with Josephus, Mark, and Luke adds flesh to the character skeleton, and voila: you have the Biblical Jesus.
In 57 C.E., the Roman cohort commander had reason to remember/identify/mistake Paul as the Egyptian Prophet, or associate Paul with this prophet, from no earlier than three years prior (54 C.E.), who had gathered people at the Mount of Olives.
Remember Paul as the Egyptian Prophet (still a possibility)
Mistake Paul as the Egyptian Prophet (a possibility but not ruling out the two cases below)
Identify Paul as the Egyptian Prophet from someone else’s description
Associate Paul with the Egyptian Prophet
Why would the Egyptian Prophet want to tear down the walls of Jerusalem to enter the city?
The Egyptian Prophet escaped capture on the Mount of Olives.
He continues to live as Paul who writes about
the meaning of the death of the Samaritan Restorer or
he considers himself a savior and writes about what the meaning of his death would be.

Account for the Samaritan Restorer slain by the authority of Pontius Pilate
Account for the Egyptian Prophet
Account for the historical Jesus of Galilee who tried to be a messiah by being a rebel fighter/general against Vespasian and lost.
Paul has enough material to create an Oral Tradition about the meaning of the death of the Messiah. He can use the Samaritan Restorer and the Egyptian Prophet.
The gospel writers could build up Paul’s work by adding the historical Jesus of Galilee, the woe-saying Jesus, elements of Paul’s life (trouble maker for the Jewish Establishment, brought before Jewish and Roman authorities), the Divine Julius Caesar and the Son of the Divine Julius Caeesar: Caesar Augustus, and Josephus’ experience later written his autobiography (3 men crucified, 1 survives).

I’m not patting myself on my back, just letting you know that I remember you previously denying that this had been your position. Until I quoted you back to yourself.
We do not need you to remind us. Maybe Judith does, but no one else.
Steefen, you know better than that! I’m not one of you who makes assertions or even contributes. Am here to learn, that’s all.
