If the Sun were 93 million miles away, when sunshine breaks through the clouds, you would get straight rays, not angled rays.
The Sun is not larger than the earth but smaller.
If the Sun were 400 times the size of the moon, we would not see a corona when there is an eclipse.
If the Sun can heat up the equator from 93 million miles away. With the South Pole being 4K miles away, it would heat the South Pole also.
