A complete aside:
I remember watching it all happen live on TV when I was 11 years old.
It’s funny how we (or maybe it’s just me) form mental pictures of people–even just from the little bits of personality I scrape from things like a few brief forum postings.
Then you go and say something like this and totally shatter the image I had built up without even realizing it.
I had–for reasons I can’t say–pegged you as being in your sixties, not your early forties.
So far as military movements, if Rome came from the West, what did it attack on the way to Jerusalem.
I’ll take a quick look at a map.

It looks as if instead of going through the hills, the military went west then went south, then went southeast to Jerusalem.
It says Caesarea was Roman HQ.

Yes, all Old Testament prophecy was fulfilled by the end of the 2nd century AD. All New Testament prophecy was fulfilled by the end of the 17th century AD during the Protestant Reformation, Enlightenment and discovery of the New World.
Martin Luther and John Calvin are the characters in Revelations. Christopher Columbus discovered the new earth. Isaac Newton discovered the new heaven.
The Old World no longer exists as its former state. The New World is the new empire. Science appears to have been the last revelation given to mankind inspired by God.
