Technology Challenge at the Beach

Dear Blog Members,

Many apologies for taking a few days off from posting on the blog.  It’s not been intentional!  I’ve been at the beach for a few days (poor soul….) and the Internet is down.  I can get email, but no access to the web.  So even though I’ve been writing posts, I can’t get them up to the blog.  I hope to have the problem resolved soon — hopefully today!

If anyone, my friend, deserves a break it is you. Reading about the killings in Israel, reminds me that I have several friends who are convinced that the Bible teaches that the second coming of Jesus will not occur unless the Jews control Israel. Is there any scriptural support for this idea? Thanks

The nutshell: in 2 Thessalonians we’re told that the antichrist figure will go into the Temple and there declare himself to be God before Jesus can return. That requires the Temple to be rebuilt. That requires Israel to be in control of Jerusalem. That requires getting rid of the Palestinians. That requires American support of Israel. So American support of Israel will make it possible for Jesus to return. (!)

Isn’t 2 Thessalonians probably not an authentic Pauline letter?

Great response, Bart! Newsweek ran an article reflecting the same commentary. “There have been amazing advances towards bringing the Temple this year. It was clear that Trump was part of that process, guided by Hashem [God],” said Asaf Fried, official spokesman for the United Temple Movement, an association lobbying for the Third Temple’s construction on the Temple Mount.”

“A number of Christian leaders have been comparing Trump to the Biblical King Cyrus. They point out that King Cyrus was a leader called and appointed by God,” wrote Enoch Lavendar for Prophecy Newswatch. “If President Trump really has a similar calling to King Cyrus, could it be that God would use this real estate developer turned president to facilitate the greatest property development of modern time—the rebuilding of the Temple?”
