Joey came home from school one day and was yelled at by his mom for getting a D grade in English class. He was is trouble. Mom was angry. Joey learned in school that angry was a stative verb, an unchanging emotion throughout time. Joey then realized mom was angry at him forever. Nothing could convince Joey that angry was not just a stative verb. Joey even argued with his English teacher who explained to him that mom wasn’t angry forever and feeling can change. But Joey argued “how then can angry be a stative verb since the stative verb cannot change? Mom is angry forever!”
