If someone says there is a 12th Dimension, please explain that.

Chat:

If someone claims there is a 12th dimension, they are likely referring to one of several different frameworks—scientific, metaphysical, or spiritual. Here’s how different perspectives might interpret a 12th dimension:
1. Theoretical Physics (Beyond String Theory)

M-Theory (11 Dimensions + 1 More?)
M-Theory, an extension of String Theory, proposes 11 dimensions (10 spatial + 1 time).
A 12th dimension might be suggested as an additional layer, possibly related to time, hyperspace, or an unknown physical force.
Some speculative physics suggests that a 12th dimension could unify gravity with quantum mechanics or allow for parallel realities.

2. Metaphysical & Esoteric Interpretations

Many New Age and spiritual philosophies describe a 12-dimensional reality as different levels of consciousness or existence.
These dimensions are often seen as higher planes of awareness, where:
3D = Physical world
4D = Time, astral plane
5D+ = Spiritual evolution, enlightenment, divine realms
12D = Ultimate unity with Source, pure consciousness

3. Numerology & Symbolism

In sacred geometry and mysticism, 12 is a powerful number (12 zodiac signs, 12 apostles, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 Olympian gods).
Some believe a 12th dimension represents divine order, transcendence, or cosmic completion.

4. Simulation & Information Theory

If reality is a computational or holographic structure, a 12th dimension might represent a control layer where fundamental laws or consciousness itself are encoded.

So, Is There Really a 12th Dimension?

Science: No evidence (M-Theory stops at 11).
Spirituality: Many traditions suggest higher dimensions of awareness.
Philosophy: Could be a framework for understanding deeper realities.

I’m not talking about the Quantum physics 11 dimensions stuff.

I’m talking about Classical physics and the observable universe.

What dimensions are you talking about?

Past: (1234)
Present (5678)
Future (9101112)

Yes, 4-1=3 and 8-5=3 and 12-9=3 but there’s really 4. (1 2 3 4)

There’s 12 dimensions, not 9.

AI Overview

In classical physics, there is no concept of “12 dimensions”; the standard model typically refers to only four dimensions: three spatial dimensions (length, width, height) and one time dimension, making up the familiar spacetime continuum.

~~~
That’s all I’m talking about except with 3 time derivatives of past, present, future to make 12 dimensions. It’s the same thing.
The fourth dimension Time; it cannot be measured without there being movement and gravity. Gravity provides a constant measurement of time because things are moving according to gravity.
The Order of the Cosmos (being able to measure time with astronomy) was considered to be enough reason of proof of the existence of God for most people.
Somehow many people came to think that there was a distinction between scientific explanations and reason for the existence of God.
The Order of the Cosmos is the ancient concept of the modern Intelligent Design.
They’re just renaming the ancient ideas, like it’s something new and more intelligent.
Is there a language with a special word of existence (to exist, to be, ειμι) that only applies to God’s existence? Maybe that word will suffice for the stubborn people.
Θειμιθως
It certainly suggests yet another transcendent dimension, which genuine astrophysicists are still trying to wrap their minds around.
Does it?
By brain gets wrapped in knots if I try to comprehend the expansion of space, but based on what I’ve been told by people who seem to understand this stuff, I didn’t think that it required extra-dimensions to account for.
I’m not denying the four dimensions of Classical physics. What I did was arbitrarily describe it as twelve dimensions because of the three time:fourth dimensions. The past, present, and future are separate dimensions but only in the fourth dimension (time, movement). The past, present, and future share the three dimensions (XYZ axis location)
From the perspective that we can only really observe the Present four dimensions (empiricism) but there are ways to artificially observe the past and future through technology, mathematics, and reasoning. (rationalism). The fourth dimension of the future (the 12th dimension) is just that,
but we know that the
Future: 9th, 10th, 11th dimensions of the future do exist because those are the same locations as the
Past:1st, 2nd, 3rd, and
Present: 5th, 6th, 7th.
The 4th, 8th, 12th dimensions are not the same time and movements.
All we truly observe is the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th dimensions (empiricism).
The four dimensions of classical physics. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th are extremes of the past and future (rationalism).
What’s occurring now in modern science is some will not make a distinction between the Empirical and the Rational. Empiricism and Rationalism.
Because the supercomputer can produce a graphics model of the universe in the past billions of years ago; that is the same to them as looking up the heavens during the evening, star gazing.
Because the microscopes can see the biological cell; that is the same as looking at a whiskey bottle on the shelf.
The Red Shift of light and the expansion of the Universe is based on a 12 dimensional math idea. The Earth is also changing its location not just within the Solar System because the Solar System is also changing its location within the Milky Way Galaxy which is also changing its location within the expanding Universe. All is falling in a spiral.
The result of all that change in location and expansion of the perimeter of the Universe with respect to Time results in a mathematical graphic of a Cone Shape. But nobody knows where the top of that Cone is: η αρχη
Empirically, that’s not what the heavens look like at all when star gazing.
Your are counting the time dimension multiple times while also arbitrarily dividing a single (time) continuum into sections that you also count as dimensions. On your reckoning, past, present, and future all have their own time dimension, when they are each a part of a single time dimension. That isn’t have dimensions work.
Is you all yourself capable of verifying and duplicating the mathematical results that are said to be the scientific consensus that are used as the authoritative statements?
Short answer: NO. Nobody is even capable, not even Einstein was, of doing the calculations with pen and paper. All you will see is algebraic variables left undefined without a numerical value.
At least one extra dimension. How could it not?
The expansion of space doesn’t imply expanding into another dimension.
Behind all of General Relativity is the idea that the space-time continuum can experience deformation. I find this really hard to really wrap my head around. When something falls (because of gravity) it isn’t actually experiencing a force and it isn’t accelerating; it is simply continuing its original inertial motion, continuing a straight line through a distorted space-time.
The whole framework relies on, in a sense, reifying space-time into a sort of fabric that can be distorted. Space and time are not simply uniformed coordinate that we can lay down and regard as fixed. Those coordinates themselves can be–actually are–squished and stretched.
Again, I don’t fully grok this. On the one hand it makes perfect sense, and on the other it makes absolutely none. But, think in terms of one dimension. Take a rubber band, cut it, and lay it out to model a number line or axis in one spacial dimension (imagine putting a dot on it every inch). When we pull the ends, the points move away from each other, without themselves moving in space, *and* without space expanding into another dimension (it is still oriented along the same axis, it just got longer).
