Wonderful stories.  The human propensity for filling in the plot holes is never ceasing.  It’s fascinating how this constellation of stories captured the imagination of the Ancient Near East.  Of course they hover over the New Testament as well.

What makes you think Noah forgot the unicorns??? If he had, how do you explain that ** you do not have permission to see this link **

They have a strong marketing appeal. Nothing with a strong marketing appeal ever really dies. (Look at Dracula, for example.)

Something else to consider is how easily the eye is fooled, even without intentional trickery. How large is this dog? (I do not know why the image shows as so small, but it is easier to see if you click on it to enlarge it.)

The actual answer is that it is it is a Neapolitan Mastiff, and the males, which tend to be larger, rarely reach 3 feet in height.

It has to do with how historical circumstances forced thinkers in Israel to re-evaluate what the prophets had said. Here is the simple version of the story, as I lay it out in my textbook on the Bible, edited a bit.

Please confirm which textbook that is.

Is it The Bible: A Historical and Literary Introduction?

Not The New Testament: A Historical Introduction to the Early Christian Writings, 2nd Edition

You have written two textbooks (not including scholarly works that can be supplemental texts)?

You have not had to do a second edition of the 2013 Bible textbook?

Bart D.E.
I have three textbooks, two on the NT and one on the Bible. I was referring to my Bible textbook which came out in a much improved (in my opinion) second edition in 2018.

I found these on amazon:
The New Testament: A Historical Introduction to the Early Christian Writings (2019) / $55

[Concise version of the above]
A Brief Introduction to the New Testament, Fifth Edidtion (2020) / $52 (does not have a Look Inside link to see Table of Contents)

The Bible: A Historical and Literary Introduction (2017) / $73 (does not have a Look Inside link to see Table of Contents)
