If we leave Genesis for something older (we ARE 150,000 years old), We have to go with Sumer and the Anunnaki

Then we have God among humans.
But we had God among Adam and Eve and God with Moses.

So if God on Earth with Adam, Eve, and Moses, and God’s angels were visiting earth, it wasn’t a first when God as Jesus became human, when the Word became flesh.

Jesus is the eternal God who became flesh and blood.

The Hebrew god and the Anunnaki were not concerned about us dying and going to heaven en masse.

Something else that did not happen:

The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end (Luke 1:31-33).

5.Jesus Came To Bring In A New Covenant

Jesus not only fulfilled the promises of the old covenant, His coming brought a new covenant into existence.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins” (Matthew 26:26-28).

How was Jesus’ covenant different from the covenant mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls?

= = =

10. Jesus Came To Prepare Humanity For A Heavenly Destiny

Finally, Jesus came to earth to prepare humanity for their heavenly destiny. The Son of God became a human so that human beings could eventually be fitted with a new nature – a perfect one. One day we shall be like him.

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is (1 John 3:2).

We shall have a body like his.

Who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body (Philippians 3:21).

Believers who have borne the image of the earthly man Adam will also bear the image of the heavenly man – Jesus. Paul wrote.

The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven (1 Corinthians 15:47,48).

The thing that hindered this from happening was sin.

So, Jesus gave us something the Old Testament didn’t give us and gave us something Anu, Enlil, and Enki didn’t give us!

So what’s the difference between Elohim and Anunnaki? Answer: nothing unless you’re dating a Jewess who says otherwise.

Genesis 1 does not have the word YHWH, it only has the word Elohim. The word YHWH isn’t mentioned until Genesis 2.

YHWH obviously cannot be the entire Elohim because Exodus 20:3 says there is another Elohim too.

What’s the difference?

The Bible does not tell us as much about the Anunnaki as it does the Elohim.

2ndm, El and Yahweh are Canaanite. Are the Canaanite deities Anunnaki?

Do the tablets tell us that some of the Anunnaki went to Canaan?

I’m going through a phase where I am hot exploring Sitchin directly/intentionally for his contributions unless it is very safe to allow him in.

Well, I am going to do to Enuma Elish the same thing I did to Genesis.

I’m going to say Euma Elish is only for Sumer and not for, say, Puma Punku in Bolivia.

Then one may say the Anunnaki did not build the Sphinx?

= = =

Were the Nephilim Homo sapiens sapiens?
That could be the Anunnaki creation story.

The archaeologists are sitting on their hands.

The giants look like giant Homo sapiens sapiens.

OR

Did the Anunnaki create giant Homo sapiens sapiens AND today’s size homo sapiens sapiens.

OR

When the Annunaki created giants the environment was such that there was more oxygen over the Earth?

Second, does the Enuma Elish give a good description of what happened to Homo sapiens sapiens during the Early Dryas period?

1) The Enuma Elish was written around the 13th century BCE or before in ancient Mesopotamia while

2) Genesis was written between the 10th and 6th centuries BCE in ancient Israel and Judah.

Authorship is traditionally attributed to Moses, following the exodus of Israel from Egypt, around 1400 BCE.
Most modern scholars accept that Genesis is a redacted literary work, reaching
its final version as late as post-exilic Israel around 400 BCE.

The Enuma Elish and Genesis 1 creation stories have many similarities, but the primary difference is how and why humanity is created.

Eridu Genesis The Sumerian Creation Myth dates to 1600 BCE

1600 BCE (Eridu Genesis)
13 century BCE (Enuma Elish)
10th century BCE with the final version 400 BCE (The Bible – Genesis)

But none of this brings us to 300,000 years when Archaic Homo sapiens began or 150,000 years ago when Modern Homo sapiens began.

The oldest story is not a creation myth but the Cosmic Hunt Myth.

Eridu Genesis has plagues sent by Enlil.

An and Enlil seek to kill humanity. They send a drought, a plague, famine then a flood to decrease the population.

Good thing there was polytheism because one of the gods, Enki spoils these attempts at humanity’s demise.

Alright, another angle: The myth of Adapa.

Abstract. In 1887, among a number of tablets written in Akkadian cuneiform that had been dug up in the ruined city of el-Amarna was one, dated to 1400 bc, that told the story of Adapa—the primal man, the first of the seven sages and the son of Eridu, the first human city.

So, go to read sample and find the Table of Contents.

So, to get down to work with a new beginning of my sacred texts, before the Holy Bible’s Genesis, I may be adding this book which has

1) the Stody of Adam / Adapa
and
2) Atrahasis / the Flood Myth

So just as I have the Post-Rosetta Stone perspective, I also have Mesopotamia myths checking the Old Testament.

That’s all I can expect of my readers/students and members of the Abrahamic faiths: historical accuracy–what else are the accounts of creation, Adam, and Noah.

Did God create humans before the Anunnaki created humans?

Answer with 22 upvotes:
by MY

Well, if you are going to assume the Sumerian account of creation is genuine, the tablets answer the question.

The story asserts the ‘gods’ mixed their own genes with the genes of the hominids they found when they came here.

Archeology has shown various hominids in our history.

We consider Homo Sapiens to be ‘Our’ branch of the tree.

And yet, we still carry genetic information from Neanderthal and Denisovan branches of the tree.

The question therefore, becomes muddled. When exactly in the genetic history of our species did the genetic engineering take place? Before admixture with Neanderthal and Denisovan? Not enough information to even begin to answer that question.

One thing is certain however, there is a section of homo sapiens genetic makeup that is foreign to the species, and there are no firm answers as to where it came from. It hangs in space, demanding further investigation.

But the framing of your question is erroneous. I answered the spirit of your question first, now let me address the error.

God, in the story you refer to, would be the Annunaki. Specifically Enki, though he was not the one who did the genetic engineering. He delegated that authority to another.

I say, ‘specifically Enki’ , because the Judeo Christian god was the head of the Judaic pantheon before worship of the One God, which was modeled through successive iterations on Enki, the head of the Sumerian delegation of ‘gods’ who came to Earth.

So, your question reads: Did god create people before the gods did? It’s a nonsense question. You are talking about the same people. The Annunaki inspired the Judeo Christian god, where Enki after generations of story telling gradually became El, head of a pantheon of gods,, who then became the only god.

Your question, as asked was: did Enki create humans before he ordered them to be created?

You see the problem with the question.

There is a dichotomy between what people know of history, and how it is accepted in society. People tend to ignore truth that would have a profound impact upon deeply held beliefs.

Jews, Muslims, and Christians would have to admit to themselves that the story they are familiar with is obviously a very confused version of ancient origin stories. None of it is even remotely close to the original tale. It was 99% made up by ignorant people in the past, trying to retell stories over lifetimes and getting it almost all wrong.

They wrote new ‘Holy Books’ based upon their misunderstandings and gave them final authority. All these things in history that have been done in ‘God’s Name’, were all the depraved actions of mortal men.

They expect ‘God’ to save them for confessing belief, and the god they refer to was an alien in the ancient past. It’s craziness. Don’t expect rational conversation concerning such a hot mess.
