We were roommates at Moody Bible Institute, and became youth pastors together at Trinity Covenant Church in Oak Lawn, Illinois. I’ve been reminiscing about those days, and have been thinking about an event connected with the church that I talked about in my book How Jesus Became God (HarperOne, 2014). It involves a sad moment when my doubts about the Christian faith were starting to take hold.
