I’m pleased and sorry to say that the table for the Blog dinner in Naples Florida on January 24 is now full! Sometimes people cancel, however, so if you would like to be put on a waiting list, I am happy to do that. I’m looking forward to meeting those who have signed up. For all others — next time!!

I don’t understand how the oral stories that lead to the gospels could have changed so much if they were being told and passed down by Jewish preachers who committed themselves to memorizing it, please explain
That’s the subject of my entire book Jesus Before the Gospels. The story tellers decidedly did not memorize the stories.
Speaking of being full, I noticed that the new testament scriptures frequently Reference old testament scripture passages.
The New Testament authors were highly educated being fluent and expert in Greek and Jewish scriptures. Developing and justifying the new Christian theology Independently by different authors in Different locations without Supervision is really quite amazing. Do you agree?
I don’t think it’s amazing they used the Jewish Scriptures to inform their understanding of Jesus — as Jews, that’s the kind of thing they simply would have done. It would have been amazing if they did so and independently came to the same conclusions!
