Is anyone on the blog a professional mathematician or statistician? (I’m not looking for someone who’s good with numbers but with someone who makes a living out of it.) If so, and you’d be willing to help me out with a question that probably any sophomore in high school could handle, could you send me a private email at [email protected] ?

Hi Bart, if your interest is in the growth in numbers of adherents to Christianity, then it would be a good idea to talk with epidemiologist, since they are adept at building mathematical models, and identifying the relative importance of key factors. Population biologists and ecologists also work with similar models.
Dean’s suggestion isn’t so far fetched as it may seem on the surface. When I was a physics technician at the University of Michigan I heard a talk by Mark Newman on how diseases spread (and computer viruses). You should contact him. He seemed like the type of person that would like to see his theories applied in varied areas. Prof. Newman is on the faculty there. Here is his website: http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mejn/
Thanks! Great idea.
I saw an older debate with you and William Lane Craig – is this about validating his mathematical proof of God’s existence? (LOL)
I believe Craig’s source claimed the formula resulted in a 96% probability (even he admitted that he didn’t support the result LOL).
Ha! No, I’m not interested in delving inty Baye’s Theorem! My question has to do with population growth….
Perhaps an actuary?
Have you found anyone who can help you?
Yup, several! Thanks.
