UpcomingTours, Lectures, and Book Readings

A number of my upcoming “events” have been more or less finalized (barring natural or national catastrophe, collapse, or cataclysm or, well, catabasis).   At the bottom are the currently scheduled book readings/lectures based on my forthcoming Heaven and Hell: A History of the Afterlife.

Any questions about any of this, let me know.

But first: my two international venues.

APRIL 14-24, 2020

Tour to Rome!!

I’ve mentioned this a couple of times on the blog, most recently here: https://ehrmanblog.org/my-trip-to-rome-interested-in-joining/

This is going to be an amazing trip!   But they are ALMOST completely full.  So if you think you want to go, better contact them now.   Here is the brochure with contact information for the organizers, Thalassa Tours.

April 24-30

Lecture tour in Sweden.

This has just been added to my schedule.   I will be giving talks at universities in Umeå, Stockholm, and possibly Upsala.  Are you in Sweden?  Maybe we could meet!

THEN, in OCTOBER 2020

October 16-29

Tour to Egypt, sponsored by the University of North Carolina General Alumni Association (you don’t need to be an alumnus/alumna to come)

It too looks amazing.  https://alumni.unc.edu/events/2020-discover-egypt-the-nile-valley/

This one is already FULL,  BUT, they have a waiting list and with these things, often someone(s) have to cancel.  So think about it!

NOW  for my future speaking events, most of which have to do with Heaven and Hell!

    Congratulations!

This is great information, and many people who do public appearances also send this information out as an email newsletter. Any chance you could do the same and send out this information via email in case I don’t read the blog next time?

Would you ever consider an event in the UK? I know you spend time here now and then but understand perhaps that’s purely holiday time and you wouldn’t want to be working!

I’ve though about it. Flying over today! Maybe in the summer. In fact I’m thinking seriously about it. But the holiday season is too hectic. Doing the hilidays with all the family in different locations is a veritable 12 days of Xmas….

Safe journey and have a super Christmas! Will keep my eyes peeled in case you decide on a summer event!

Think you might do some readings in Canada?

Nothing in the cards just now. For the book readings I just go where I’m told! (By the publisher)

Would love to have you lecture at the Chautauqua Institution in NY, where I work in the summers. We now have a humanist chaplain along with all the other flavors. Your story and the breadth of your scholarship would be a great fit there.

Yes, everyone says its absolutely great. I’d love to, if invited, but the problem is that I’m overseas for most of my summers….
