Thanks to the incredible generosity of members of the blog, I am happy to announce that there are a limited number of free one-year memberships available. These have been donated for a single purpose: to allow those who cannot afford the annual membership fee to participate on the blog for a year. I will assign these memberships strictly on the honor system: if you truly cannot afford the membership fee, but very much want to have full access to the blog, then please contact me.
Do NOT reply here, on the blog, as a comment. Send me a separate email, privately, at [email protected]. In your email, let me know your situation (i.e., why you would like to take advantage of this offer) and provide me with the following information:
1) Your first and last name.
2) Your preferred personal email.
3) Your preferred user name (no spaces).
4) Your preferred password (should be 8 or more characters, no spaces).
The donors will remain anonymous, but here let me publicly extend my heartfelt thanks for such kind and generous donations to help others.
How many members are there? I wonder how many people read the blog daily?
There are over 4800 now; as to how many read the blog daily, my guess is a small percentage!
You can count me in that small percentage. The blog is great! The comments and replies add a lot. I always read the previous posts comments before reading the current post. (I skip those long essays that show up as comments. I’m thinking “Bart has to read all that…be more considerate”!)
I thank Dr. Ehrman from bottom of my heart. He gave me the free membership last year. I enjoyed and learned many things. It is best fortune of students like us who can read the expert opinions on the subject like history of Christianity and the Bible and who can interact directly with such an eminent scholar.
Bart, since we now have 4,800 members, how have we not already reached your goal of generating at least $100,000 per year from subscriptions? 4,800 times $25 = $120,000.
Thanks.
Right! The problem is that a lot of those are members for three months ($7.95)!
We will hit 100k this year — in fact we already have. But it is because of donations etc., otherwise, not.
Mine renews every 3 months because I keep forgetting to change it to yearly. It’s set to renew again in January. If I change it now, will I lose the month that’s paid?
Ha! Probably. Better wait a month! Or send me an email to get it worked out.
